Trump: Oil prices are falling and gasoline will continue to decrease
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that oil prices continue to decline at a rapid pace, pointing out that gasoline prices have also begun to drop, albeit at a slower rate, expressing his expectation that fuel prices in the United States will soon reach low levels.
Trump explained, in a post on the platform "Truth Social," that the Freedom Fuel network will lower fuel prices at 25 stations in the Philadelphia area on July 3, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, praising this initiative and urging other companies and gas stations to take similar steps to support consumers.
He added that the United States "has never been stronger than it is now," emphasizing that Americans will soon benefit from the drop in gasoline prices to levels he described as close to the record lows the country experienced before what he referred to as "successful intervention in Iran."
Trump's comments come at a time when markets continue to monitor global oil price movements due to their direct impact on fuel and transportation costs, inflation rates, and consumer spending in the United States. The decrease in energy prices is a supporting factor for households' purchasing power and alleviates pressures on many economic sectors that heavily rely on fuel.
For investors, developments in oil prices and statements from the U.S. administration regarding the energy market remain a point of continuous monitoring, given their reflection on the performance of energy and transportation companies, in addition to their impact on inflation expectations and U.S. monetary policy. Initiatives to lower fuel prices also reflect the administration's interest in highlighting the economic effects of declining energy costs on the American consumer.
