Preliminary data released by Eurostat on Friday morning showed a slowdown in GDP growth in the Eurozone during the fourth quarter of last year, marking the lowest quarterly growth for the entire year.

According to the data, the Eurozone achieved a growth of 0.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024 on a quarterly basis, which is better than market expectations that indicated no change in GDP, predicting growth at 0.0%. This follows a 0.4% growth in the Eurozone economy during the third quarter of 2024.

On an annual basis, the Eurozone recorded a 0.9% increase in GDP during the fourth quarter of last year compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year, which matched expectations that predicted the same growth rate. The previous reading for the economic growth rate in the region during the third quarter was also recorded at 0.9%.
