The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) released on Monday the Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data for November, which showed positive results that exceeded market expectations. The index recorded 48.4 points, surpassing expectations of 47.7 points, showing a notable improvement compared to the previous reading of 46.5 points in October.

On the other hand, the Manufacturing PMI price index released by the institute recorded a negative reading of 50.3 points in November, outperforming expectations that anticipated it would record 55.2 points, while the previous reading for September was 54.8 points.

This index is based on comprehensive surveys of more than 600 purchasing managers, aiming to measure the relative level of business conditions in areas such as employment, production, new orders, and prices, in addition to resource delivery and inventories.

It is well-known that this index significantly impacts currency movements, as it is considered positive for the currency if the actual value exceeds expectations, while it is deemed negative if it is below the anticipated value.
