Some informed sources told the Wall Street Journal that oil producers in the United States are unlikely to significantly increase their production, and for this reason, they suggested that the best way to lower crude oil prices is to ask the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Saudi Arabia to increase oil production. According to a report published on Monday, Saudi Arabia has informed former American officials who contacted the Trump administration that it does not wish to take this step. Additionally, the International Monetary Fund clarified that Saudi Arabia would be in a predicament if oil prices were to fall significantly below $90 per barrel, explaining that this price is essential for Saudi Arabia to maintain its financial balance in 2025 and to fund social services, along with meeting monthly payments to citizens and large infrastructure projects.
